Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted he'd like to bring Bernardo Silva to the Nou Camp, as the Spanish club reignite their interest in the Man City star.

The Portuguese midfielder has been at the centre of speculation that he could leave the Etihad following City's historic treble win last season.

There had been reports that Saudi side Al Hilal had offered him a contract that was worth £75million-per-season to become the latest player to move to the middle east.

French side PSG are also keen on Silva and have reportedly offered a player-exchange deal to try and land the 28-year-old.

Now, According to Footmercato, Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants to bring to the midfielder to the Spanish giants.

Silva's £150,000-a-week deal with City is set to expire in 2025, and the club want to offer him a new deal to stay in Manchester and warn off potential suitors.

City would like Silva to stay, having been a pivotal part of Guardiola's side ever since he signed from Monaco for £43m in 2017.

He has gone on to score 55 goals and contributed 59 assists in 306 games across all competitions for the Citizens.

Last season he cored seven goals in 55 games as City swept up the Premier League, FA Cup and their first-ever Champions League.

Barcelona have already snapped-up Silva's former Manchester City teammate Ilkay Gundogan this summer, but the Portugal international remains a key target for Xavi's side as they look to defend their La Liga title.

However, the club are still working within a delicate economic situation and would need to find a way to make any deal for Silva work.
