Moriba Kourouma Kourouma, or Ilaix as he is known by many at the club, was selected by Denis Silva in his starting line-up for Barcelona's UEFA Youth League match against Inter on Wednesday.

Now, after his assist opened the scoring, the Catalan club are looking to tie the 15-year-old down to a long-term deal.

Born in Conakri, the capital of Guinea, on January 19, 2003, he has become a key figure for the Juvenil B squad, also debuting for the A team on Tuesday.

He is best known by fans for scoring three in the 5-0 win against Real Madrid in 'The Cup' in August, a tournament in Sant Pol de Mar.

As is often the case at La Masia, Barcelona want to secure his future and avoid the central midfielder entering talks with other clubs when he turns 16 years old in January.

That is when he can sign his first professional contract, but he has already attracted interest from elsewhere, including Manchester City.

As one of the club's brightest young talents, Barcelona are hoping to avoid a repeat of the cases of Robert Navarro or Sergio Gomez, who left for Monaco and Borussia Dortmund.
