Barcelona Previews El Clásico: Six new signings for each team could make derby debut

  /  autty

On October 25, Barcelona will host old rivals Real Madrid in a LaLiga Matchday 10 clash. This fixture always generates extra anticipation among Barcelona fans when the schedule is released. As both teams retool their squads for the 2026/27 season, many new faces are expected to feature.

Five New Barcelona Signings

For Barcelona, as many as six first-team players could make their Clasico debut against Real Madrid. The five new signings are Livakovic, Rodri, Jesus, Adeyemi, and Gordon; in addition, Fariñas was promoted to the first team this summer.

Espart is also one to watch. Although the La Masia player was included in the squad for the last Clasico, which was Matchday 35 of LaLiga last season, he did not get playing time. Therefore, he might make his debut against Real Madrid this time.

Starting XI Adjustments

Looking back at the last encounter between Barcelona and Real Madrid at Camp Nou, Flick will need to make at least four changes to that starting XI. Two of these are due to Rashford and Ferran Torres no longer being Barcelona players, while Eric Garcia and Olmo will be out due to injury.

Real Madrid Squad Changes

Real Madrid will have six new signings available for this match: Yan Diomande, Cucurella, Espi, Dumfries, Konate, and Bernardo Silva. There will also be a new face on the bench, the familiar Mourinho. The Portuguese coach began his second spell in charge of Real Madrid this summer, having previously managed the club from the 2010/11 to 2012/13 seasons.

Real Madrid will also need to make at least three changes to their starting lineup from the most recent Clasico last season. Fran Garcia and Gonzalo Garcia have both left the club, while Vinicius will be suspended for this match after receiving a red card against Villarreal. In fact, considering Mourinho's recent lineups, this number could even reach seven. However, the final answer will only be revealed shortly before the first Clasico of the season kicks off.
