Clemente Lenglet has signed for Barcelona and he is the sixth centre-back who has arrived at the Camp Nou since Carles Puyol left the Catalan club.
Since the 2010 World Cup winner left in 2014, Samuel Umtiti, Jeremy Mathieu, Thomas Vermaelen, Yerry Mina and Marlon have all been signed.
Now Lenglet joins too for 35 million euros, taking the total spent on centre-backs since Puyol's retirement above 100m euros.
It's true that Umtiti has impressed during his time in Catalonia and that he has formed a solid partnership with Gerard Pique, but the club's sporting department still believed the centre-back department could be improved.
