According to the latest report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will officially announce Ansu Fati's departure and Andreas Christensen's contract extension today or tomorrow.

Barcelona faces a critical deadline before the 2025-26 fiscal year ends on June 30. Transfer negotiations for several key players are underway, with official announcements expected, including Christensen's contract extension and Fati's transfer.

Barcelona is expected to officially announce Fati's transfer to AS Monaco for €11 million between Monday and Tuesday. Monaco will exercise the buyout clause, paying the fee in two installments. Barcelona is keen to record this €11 million in their financial statements this year.

The announcement of Christensen's two-year contract extension is also expected today or tomorrow. The 30-year-old Danish centre-back has agreed to a two-year deal with the club, with both parties retaining the option to terminate the contract after the first year.

Manager Hansi Flick's confidence in Christensen was instrumental in the player accepting Barcelona's offer. Last season, Flick selected him for 12 matches before Christensen suffered a partial anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee during a training session before Christmas.

Despite receiving more lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, the Premier League, and the Bundesliga, Christensen chose Barcelona. He joined on a free transfer in 2022 and has spent four seasons with the club, feeling fully integrated into life in Catalonia.
