Barcelona won the mid-season champion after their 2-2 draw with Espanyol.
According to Opta, Barcelona claimed La Liga Champion in seven of the last eight season when they led the competition in the mid-season. The only exception was in the 2013/2014 season when Atlético de Madrid recorded the title.
