According to Sport, Real Betis are considering strengthening their front line with a loan, with Santiago Giménez and Muinga as the main candidates.
Giménez, 25, has been with Milan since February 2025, with his contract running until June 30, 2029. The 1.80m tall forward, who primarily uses his left foot, is currently valued at €18 million. In addition to his Mexican nationality, he also holds Italian citizenship, meaning he will not occupy a non-EU spot in La Liga. Before joining San Siro, he scored 65 goals in 105 appearances for Feyenoord, winning the Eredivisie title with the team, and establishing himself as one of Europe's most talked-about young forwards.
His situation at Milan has opened up possibilities, but Porto are also closely monitoring him, as his playing time in Italy is expected to decrease further after the arrival of Gonçalo Ramos.
Santiago Giménez is on the shortlist, and Real Betis also admire other No. 9 players such as Muinga.
Even if Giménez is ultimately chosen, the deal will not be easy, but Real Betis has prioritized his name ahead of several other attacking options, aiming to loan the Mexican forward.
Muinga is also on the list, characterized by his active running, ability to exploit space, and excellent poaching instincts in the box. After a half-season loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, he will return to Nottingham Forest. Nottingham Forest signed the forward from Rennes in August 2025 for close to €30 million, with a contract until June 30, 2030. He has four years left on his contract and is currently valued at around €25 million, with some even asking for over €30 million. The 1.78m tall right-footed forward commands a high price, so according to information obtained by Andalucía Post, Real Betis is looking for a loan solution.
In terms of goal-scoring statistics, Muinga has shown consistent improvement in recent seasons. In the 2024/25 season, he scored 18 goals in all competitions for Rennes, with 17 of them coming in Ligue 1. In the 2025/26 season, he first scored 2 goals for an English team in the Europa League, and then joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan in January, scoring 6 goals in 19 Bundesliga appearances.
Kevin Denkey, Franculino Djú, Moise Kean, and Mathys Tel are also on the list.
Real Betis internally admires Kevin Denkey, but with FC Cincinnati's high asking price, Hull City has gained an advantage, with a transfer fee close to €20 million. Even so, Real Betis has not given up on him, but is also considering other options such as Giménez and Muinga.
Franculino Djú is also highly regarded, but his departure from Midtjylland would also be very costly, with Saudi clubs already offering €35 million. Meanwhile, Real Betis's other targets are not currently being pursued by the club. Mathys Tel was also on the shortlist, and Real Betis might seek a loan from Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs will not be in European competition next season and might be willing to loan out the young French player to help him increase his value in Manuel Pellegrini's team, where he would also get significant playing time.
Currently, Real Betis has multiple avenues, and the transfer window is not yet closed, with the club still looking for a forward. Giménez and Muinga are key candidates, Denkey and Franculino Djú are also in good positions, and Mathys Tel and Moise Kean are also on the list, but they are more difficult to acquire.
