The Copa del Rey quarter-finals get underway at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and the home side look worth backing to come out on top in this one
There are just eight teams left in the Copa del Rey and there looks a worthwhile wager in the first of this week's quarter-final first legs.
Getafe are in the hunt for a European place in La Liga and they're priced at 29/20 (2.45) with 888Sport to establish an advantage in front of their own fans by winning this game.
Valencia are priced at 43/20 (3.15) to win at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez while a stalemate between the pair is understandably being kept short by the odds compilers at just 19/10 (2.90).
The visitors won the league meeting at this ground earlier this season but the recent form makes the hosts appear a little overpriced.
Five of Getafe's last six home games in all competitions have ended in victories with the only exception a narrow 2-1 reverse at the hands of tabble-topping Barcelona. Other than that, Jose Bordalas' men have been in fine form at this venue and could be worth backing.
Contrast that with Valencia's troubles on the road in recent weeks. Los Che won 2-1 at Celta Vigo at the weekend but prior to that they'd lost four of their previous five on the road in all competitions.
A 1-0 reverse at the hands of Juventus in the Champions League is perfectly understandable of course but 2-1 defeats at Sporting Gijon and Alaves don't bode well for what promises to be a tough trip on Tuesday night.
Neither of these teams are prolific so goal-mouth action could be in short supply. Getafe have only conceded 16 times in 20 La Liga matches whereas Valencia are only two goals worse off in that metric.
The difference though, could be in the final third. With 25 goals this term, the hosts rank 10 places above their fellow top-flight opposition in terms of their output up front. While that only equates to six strikes it could well be the key element, especially with their recent record at this ground.
While a tight game is expected - under 2.5 goals is just 1/2 (1.50) with 888Sport - it's the price of 29/20 (2.45) about a home win that appears worthy of a modest stake in this game.
