ESPN Brasil maintain that Palmerias midfielder Matheus Fernándes is close to signing for FC Barcelona for a fee of 11 million euro.
The structure of the deal would see the Catalan giants pay a fixed advanced fee of seven million euro to the Serie A side with an additional four million in the form of 'add-ons' with Fernandes set to be added to the Barcelona squad as a natural replacement for Sergio Busquets.
At present the 21-year-old is in Florida (Miami) as Palmeiras participate in the pre-season Florida Cup along with fellow Brazilian side Corinthians plus NYCFC (MLS) and Colombia's Atlético Nacional.
