David Aganzo, president of the Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE), believes that Iker Casillas would make a great president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Aganzo and Casillas played together at Real Madrid and have been close friends for 30 years.
"As president of the players' union, I like the presidents of the Federation to be footballers," Aganzo told MARCA.
"Iker is a person that I've known for more than 30 years and who loves football, the same as Luis Rubiales.
"I also think that it's good democratically that there's more than one option for the presidency of the RFEF and whatever organisation."
With the presidential elections just around the corner, an appearance of someone like Casillas will pose a serious threat to Rubiales' re-election.
