Celades: Mestalla is uncomfortable for the visiting team

Valencia fans are set to continue protests against the club's owner Peter Lim at Sunday's game with Leganes, but new coach Albert Celades has claimed that he isn't worried.

The new coach, who took over from Marcelino, has indicated that a boiling Mestalla is always a fortress for the team and creates a sense of fear for the rivals.

"The fans are important for everyone, especially for the team," he said at a press conference ahead of what will be his first home match since taking over.

"When I came as a visitor, I understood how important these fans were.

"When those at Mestalla push on it is uncomfortable and difficult for the visiting team.

"The communion between the fans and the players is important.

"If there is union between players and fans it is much better for everyone and easier to have a good performance."

Leganes have yet to get any points in LaLiga Santander, but Celades pointed out that his players shouldn't underestimate their opponents.

"The intention is to always win," he added.

"Leganes deserve to have more points than what they have.

"They have competed very well in every game, although maybe a little less in the last game against Villarreal.

"Leganes are a brave team, they press high and alternate high and medium-low pressure.

"They are not a team that lock themselves in their area."
