Giráldez hopes the team will earn points in the Europa League as soon as possible, praising the opportunity to play at a venue like Celtic Park, and thanking the large number of fans who traveled to support them.
Regarding the necessity of earning points, he said: "We know this is a short competition, with only eight group stage matches. We must get points as soon as possible, and we hope to get three points this Thursday. This is what we have been striving for in the previous matches. I feel that in the first two matches, we were very close to getting points. We have been fighting to take at least one point, or even three. What we need to do now is focus on the match itself—on what we need to do tactically, technically, mentally, and physically to compete against an opponent in a stadium like this, in a situation similar to ours."
On doing the work well: "Results are a consequence of serious work. In the Europa League, every mistake is punished. We must play as complete a game as possible, because we know we need to accumulate points to advance to the next round, and the sooner we get them, the more at ease everyone will be."
On enjoying the game: "In this competition, we must play more relaxed, because ultimately, our main focus—the competition that supports everything—is staying in LaLiga. This is the second time we've played in Europe consecutively, and just being here is a dream. We want to remain competitive and win every match, but this competition is still different from LaLiga. Overall, we need to enjoy the game more, be a bit calmer, and play these matches with more enjoyment and less suffering."
On the 3,000 Celta fans in the stands: "Just as these fans made an effort to get here, we have also made a great effort to play such a match. For many years, we have been waiting for the opportunity to come to Celtic Park, to play in one of the most iconic and historic stadiums in world football. We also want to thank everyone who found a way to travel here, who had to make multiple transfers on a weekday to get here. For us, this is a very wonderful and special day, and having the chance to play this match gives us immense strength."
