Chelsea are reportedly keen on Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson, with their pursuit of Michael Olise not quite a sure thing

Chelsea are interested in signing Nottingham Forest starlet Brennan Johnson, according to recent reports.

football.london understands that a medical has been arranged for the 19-year-old for a fee which could rise to £58million. Mauricio Pochettino's side also activated the £35million release clause of Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, with talks ongoing in order to finalise the Frenchman's move to Stamford Bridge.

But according to The Guardian, a deal for the 21-year-old is not certain to go through. It is now claimed that they are interested in a move for Forest attacker Johnson, although it is currently unclear whether or not this is instead of Olise, or merely in addition to.

Talks over the Welsh international are said to be at an early stage, with the possibility of including players as part of a deal also discussed. The 22-year-old is valued by Steve Cooper's side in the region of £45million following his impressive 2022/23 campaign, which saw him net eight Premier League goals to help Forest stave off relegation to the Championship.

The Blues are reportedly set to secure an initial £28million for young left-back Lewis Hall, who looks set to join Newcastle United in search of more regular first-team opportunities.
