Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign a new goalkeeper at Chelsea with a number of shot-stoppers being linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge

According to TuttoJuve, the Blues are facing competition from Premier League rivals for the signing of Juventus star Wojciech Szczesny. The Polish goalkeeper left Arsenal back in 2017 and has become a key performer for Juve in the last six years.

Szczesny's contract is not set to expire until 2025 meaning the Italian side could demand a significant fee to let the 33-year-old leave the club this summer. Chelsea have not been convinced by either Kepa or Mendy last season with both goalkeepers failing to prove they deserve to remain as the club's No.1.

The Blues have not had a world-class goalkeeper at the club since Thibaut Courtois left the Blues back in 2018 - but Pochettino wants to change that this summer. Liverpool and Manchester City have shown with the signings of Alisson and Ederson that a world-class keeper can help achieve success.

Reports in Italy have stated that the Blues are struggling to agree a fee with Inter over a deal to sign Onana - which may see them switch focus to Szczesny. AC Milan's Mike Maignan is reportedly not for sale this summer but the Juventus star could be a smart purchase byu the Blues.
