It is claimed Inter could make Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale their statement signing this summer.
According to Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito, Conte has asked Inter CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio to bring Bale to Inter.
The 29-year-old became a household name when he scored a hat-trick against the Nerazzurri in 2010, before joining Madrid three years later for €100m.
Returning boss Zinedine Zidane deems the Welshman surplus to requirements, despite his agent’s protestations that he will stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Beneamata are expected to make some big moves this summer to satisfy the former Juventus boss, ahead of another Champions League campaign and a likely Scudetto push.
Bale has scored 102 goals and provided 64 assists in six years with Los Blancos, winning three European Cups and a League title.
However, he has never truly warmed to the club’s fans and has struggled with injuries.
