Courtois: What I said about Atletico was translated badly from Dutch

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is blaming mistranslation for his recent quotes about Atletico and the upcoming Madrid derby.

Ajax, Barcelona and Atletico await Madrid in the coming weeks and Courtois had given an interview to Nieus Blad in which he spoke about expecting to have a difficult time in front of Rojiblancos fans at the Wanda Metropolitano.

"The translation from Dutch was bad," he said.

"It's a special match for me because I arrived there at 19-years old."

Vinicius Junior continues to shine for Madrid and the Belgian spoke glowingly of his teammate, comparing him to an ex-teammate at Chelsea.

"At that age, the player I've seen with that much self-confidence and impudence is Eden Hazard," he said.

Courtois also spoke about the team's recent form ahead of their crunch month in all competitions.

"This victory came against a good team who defend well," he added.

"We are in good shape, and not only now.

"We lost to Real Sociedad but deserved to win; football is like that.

"The Atletico game is important, and the Champions League is always special."
