On August 5th, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein, following today's talks, Real Madrid presented a better offer to a level that sufficiently reflects Vinicius' importance to Real Madrid and to the club's future plans.
The Athletic reports that Real Madrid have offered Vinicius an improved contract. On Wednesday local time, the player's agent held talks in Madrid with Real Madrid's general manager & chief scout. The two sides had previously been in controversy with Vini's salary: Vinicius seeking a contract worth around €30 million per year, including base salary, performance-related add-ons and a renewal bonus — the renewal bonus being the key sticking point in the negotiations.
Real Madrid had previously been unwilling to meet those demands, but anonymous sources familiar with Wednesday's discussions said that the club have now switched their focus and improved their offer to a higher level to fit Vinicius's request.
Now, Vinicius must decide whether to renew his contract with Real Madrid, or wait to become a free agent next summer, or seize the opportunity offered by Arsenal.
