According to Di Marzio, nominations for the 2026 Ballon d'Or and other France Football awards are being announced. De la Fuente is the only national team coach among the Best Coach candidates.
The Ballon d'Or ceremony will be held for the first time in London on October 28, celebrating the award's 70th anniversary and returning to England, the home country of the first recipient, Stanley Matthews, in 1956. France Football is gradually announcing the nominations for various awards.
At the 69th ceremony held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris in September 2025, Dembélé and Aitana Bonmatí received the men's and women's Ballon d'Or, respectively. Below are the nominations announced so far for each award.
Goalkeeper of the Year: Yassine Bounou (Al-Hilal/Morocco), Courtois (Real Madrid/Belgium), Joan García (Barcelona/Spain), Kobel (Borussia Dortmund/Switzerland), Darío Martínez (Aston Villa/Argentina), Édouard Mendy (Al-Ahli/Senegal), Raya (Arsenal/Spain), Safonov (Paris Saint-Germain/Russia), Unai Simón (Athletic Bilbao/Spain), Vozinha (Chaves/Cape Verde).
Women's Goalkeeper of the Year: Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC/Germany), Cata Coll (Barcelona/Spain), Hannah Hampton (Chelsea/England), Lorena (Kansas City Current/Brazil), Ayaka Yamashita (Manchester City/Japan).
Coach of the Year: Arteta (Arsenal), Luis de la Fuente (Spain), Emery (Aston Villa), Kompany (Bayern Munich), Enrique (Paris Saint-Germain).
Women's Club Coach of the Year: Jonatan Giráldez (Lyon Féminin), Andrea Jegleitz (Manchester City), Nils Nielsen (Japan), Pere Romeu (Barcelona), Elena Sadiku (Celtic/BK Häcken).
Men's Club of the Year: Arsenal, Bayern, Bodø/Glimt, Flamengo, Paris Saint-Germain.
Women's Club of the Year: Barcelona, Bayern, Club América, Manchester City, Lyon.
