Ronald Koeman played Ousmane Dembele from the start against Getafe on Saturday night, giving the Frenchman his first official start for Barcelona in 11 months.
Not since a Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund at the Camp Nou on November 27, 2019, had Dembele started for the Blaugrana, as he then suffered a very serious hamstring injury.
The last LaLiga Santander match he started, meanwhile, was on November 23, 2019, against Leganes.
This season, following his return from injury, Dembele had already featured against Villarreal, but the 20 minutes he played that night came off the bench.
Dembele was linked with a move away from Barcelona towards the end of the summer transfer window, but has stayed at the club and has won over Koeman, who started him in attacking along with Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Pedri.
