Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand believes Christian Eriksen can rediscover his best form but admitted he is at a loss as to why the midfielder is not starting regularly for Inter Milan.
Eriksen joined the Serie A side in January from Tottenham but has only started nine league games and was an unused substitute in the club's match against Lazio on Sunday.
Hjulmand, who included the Dane in his squad to face the Faroe Islands, Iceland and England, insisted the Dane is a 'brilliant' player and said only Eriksen and manager Antonio Conte have the answers as to why the 28-year-old it not starting more games.
'I can't answer questions about why he is not playing,' Hjulmand said, according to Danish outlet Politiken. 'But I wonder, since I know how good he is.
'He is a brilliant player. I believe he can survive anything in his career. I believe, no matter what happens there, we will see him at his best level again.
'Hi quality is hard to hold down. What's precisely going on, only Antonio Conte and Christian would know.
'If I say more, it would be guessing, and I don't want to do that.'
Eriksen scored four goals in 26 appearances across all competitions for Inter last season but found himself in and out of the starting line-up.
The midfielder started the opening game of the 2020-2021 campaign against Fiorentina but could only manage a place on the bench in the following two fixtures.
He managed 68 goals and 90 assists in his first six seasons for Tottenham before a failed summer move in 2019 led to a disappointing start to the 2019-2020 campaign.
Eriksen finally got his move in the winter transfer window but he is yet to replicate the form he showed for the majority of his Spurs career.
