Douglas Pereira will no longer be a Barcelona player from tomorrow. He was signed from Sao Paolo and billed as a great right-back who would succeed at Barcelona. Nothing could have been further from the truth.
The Brazilian joined in August 2014 for 4 million euros.
His first two seasons he was out of more squad lists than he was included to play, only featuring eight times, most of them in the Copa and usually less than 90 minutes.
From his debut against Malaga he failed to convince and eventually was loaned to Sporting Gijon, then Benfica and finally Sivasspor. Now he is free to go where he likes.
At 27, Douglas puts an end to his Barca era, which have been years to forget.
