Bayern Munich maintained their 100 per cent record under Hansi Flick and closed the gap on Bundesliga leaders Borussia Monchengladbach to one point with a dominant 4-0 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The champions had suffered a shocking 5-1 defeat in their last away game three weeks ago - a result that brought an end to Niko Kovac's tenure as head coach - but they were on the right side of a thumping victory on this occasion.

Goals from Benjamin Pavard, Corentin Tolisso and Serge Gnabry put the game beyond Dusseldorf inside 34 minutes and ensured a superb first-half performance from Bayern was suitably rewarded.

11' GOAL! Düsseldorf 0-1 Bayern (Kimmich)

The visitors' pressure pays off as Kimmich's low cross travels through a crowd of bodies into the bottom corner with a touch from Pavard. Muller catches out the Dusseldorf defence with a quick corner to Kimmich and the German fires a low cross from the right flank towards the Frenchman.

The full-back makes just enough contact to guide the ball towards the bottom-left corner past Steffen.

27' GOAL! Düsseldorf 0-2 Bayern (Tolisso)

Bayern double their lead as Tolisso steers a cross from Gnabry into the top-right corner. Steffen makes a huge mistake at the back placing his pass straight to Muller. The forward feeds Gnabry on the right flank and he places a low delivery into the box.

Tolisso arrives late and converts the opening, guiding his strike past Steffen.

30' CLOSE! Gnabry hits the post

34' GOAL! Düsseldorf 0-3 Bayern (Gnabry)

Gnabry is on the spot from six yards to fire home an opening from close range after another Bayern attack cuts open the Dusseldorf backline. Pavard places a low cross into the middle that deflects off Adams. Muller collects with his back to goal and passes to Gnabry.

The winger is left with a simple finish to find the bottom-corner. Clinical from the visitors.

59' Lewandowski's shot wide out

70' GOAL! Düsseldorf 0-4 Bayern (Coutinho)

Coutinho has the easiest of finishes from two yards to tap the ball into an empty net. Lewandowski is the architect as he surges down the left flank and flicks a cross towards the near post. Muller tries to guide it towards goal, but fails to make contact. It works out for the visitors as Coutinho is there behind him to slot it home.
