Man City are not concerned about losing Haaland this summer, according to TEAMtalk's exclusive report.

There have been recent transfer rumors linking Man City forward Haaland with Real Madrid. Despite renewed claims from Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme, TEAMtalk exclusively reveals that Man City are completely unconcerned about the possibility of Haaland moving to Real Madrid this summer.

The Spanish businessman has repeatedly insisted that Haaland would join Real Madrid if he wins the upcoming Real Madrid presidential election, leading to renewed speculation about the future of the world-class football star.

However, sources at Man City have emphasized to TEAMtalk that the club has never taken Riquelme's claims seriously and are "completely relaxed" about Haaland's situation.

In fact, Haaland's camp is pleased after his team publicly issued a clear response on Thursday, denying claims that an agreement had been reached between the two parties.

Haaland's team stated in a statement: "It's all very interesting, but it's not true. We wish both candidates in the Real Madrid election all the best." The statement came from Haaland's camp, including his father Alfie Haaland and agent Rafaela Pimenta.

Despite the clear denial, Riquelme still refused to retract his statements. Riquelme said: "Haaland's team denied the agreement? Well, that's part of the game. It was the same with Luís Figo back then."

He continued: "I understand that they have to take care of the player, protect him within his club and team. This seems normal to me. But I repeat: if I were president, Haaland would join Real Madrid."

However, these remarks have not changed Man City's stance. Sources also explained that a move to Spain at some point in the future might be considered by Haaland, but this will not happen anytime soon.

TEAMtalk understands that, as the Premier League champions, Man City still fully believe in Haaland's commitment to the club and have received no indications that the Norwegian international is looking for a transfer this summer.

TEAMtalk previously revealed that Real Madrid and Barcelona have long maintained an interest in Haaland. Sources also confirmed that there are indeed certain clauses in Haaland's contract that could theoretically provide conditions for his future departure. In January 2025, Haaland signed a landmark 10-year contract extension with Man City, which was the most lucrative contract in the club's history.

However, neither Man City nor Haaland envisioned that the two parties would go their separate ways in 2026 when that agreement was signed.

The expectation at the time was that Haaland would continue to be a central figure in Man City's plans for many years to come.

Sources close to the matter have reiterated to TEAMtalk that Haaland is currently fully focused on representing Norway in the upcoming World Cup finals, and he has no intention of being distracted by transfer rumors. This could be a historic tournament for Norway.

This does not mean that Spain holds no appeal for Haaland. TEAMtalk understands that joining La Liga is an option considered in Haaland's long-term career plan and may still become a direction he explores later in his career.

However, Riquelme's current remarks should be seen more as a gimmick to Garner voter support before Real Madrid's presidential election this Sunday.

Indeed, Real Madrid has always admired the Norwegian star. If Haaland becomes available in the future, Real Madrid will undoubtedly be interested, but sources emphasize that this transfer is currently not on Haaland's radar.

At this stage, the player and the club are on the same page. Despite the latest constant noise from Spain, Man City believes that the star striker will continue to be the team's attacking spearhead at the Etihad Stadium.

The Real Madrid presidential campaign may continue to generate headlines, but Man City's stance on the Haaland rumors is clear: they are just rumors.
