A brace each for Borja Iglesias and Facundo Ferreyra sealed a comfortable 4-0 victory for Espanyol over Stjarnan in the first leg of their Europa League second round qualifier on Thursday night.
Despite having chances to open the scoring in the first half, the Catalan side had to wait until four minutes after the interval to take the lead through Ferreyra.
The Argentine fired in his second goal following an assist from Iglesias, who then got his name on the scoresheet just three minutes later.
The two forwards combined once more and, after a brilliant team move, the Spaniard made it 4-0 to seal a win that takes Espanyol one step closer to the third qualifying round.
