Former Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto admits it was difficult seeing Jose Mourinho sacked.
Mourinho was axed in January, with Pinto leaving just weeks later.
He told Sky Italia: "That was a very difficult day for everyone.
"I'm still young, I don't know if older sports directors manage it differently. The moment a coach has to be fired, I'm dead."
Pinto admits new coach Daniele de Rossi wanted him to stay.
“Yes, we've always had a good relationship, even before his arrival," he added.
