Expert: Garcia was rightly sent off, Athletic should have had a penalty before

The 13th minute of Real Madrid's Tuesday night LaLiga Santander match against Athletic Club gave referee Jesus Gil Manzano a lot to think about, as Inaki Williams claimed for a penalty in the home team's box and as Raul Garcia then got himself sent off.

Firstly, Williams went down under pressure from Dani Carvajal as he tried to get a shot off and MARCA's refereeing expert Juan Andujar Oliver believes this should have been a penalty.

"The third TV angle shows us that Carvajal pushes the Athletic player, who loses his balance," Andujar said on Radio MARCA. "Gil Manzano should have blown for a penalty."

Play was waved on, though, and Raul Garcia tackled Toni Kroos just moments later after he'd already been shown a yellow for a different challenge on the German in the eighth minute.

"The Athletic player stepped on the German and he deserved the second yellow," Andujar said.
