Felipe Monteiro has been impressed by what he's seen at Atletico Madrid so far then the centre-back expects big things to happen at the Wanda Metropolitano this season.
The Brazilian is one of those tasked with replacing an important former Atleti player in Diego Godin, but he's hopeful of doing well and has been impressed by a number of things at the club.
"The fans' passion [has grabbed my attention]," Felipe said.
"This is a passionate club.
"There's a great group here and they've welcomed me well. We'll do good things."
Atleti hammered Real Madrid 7-3 on Friday night in New Jersey and despite the game being a friendly, it's a result that has been celebrated.
"We know it's not easy to get a result like that in a derby,' Felipe noted.
"The best thing about this group is that we're a family.
"Diego Simeone doesn't stop correcting you."
Joao Felix has been the club's big-money signing this summer and he's been impressing already.
"He has a lot of quality," Felipe added.
"He already showed it in Portugal, and we knew it wouldn't be any different [in Spain].
"He has a lot to learn but he'll be a great player."
