Mauricio Pochettino looks set to receive a major pre-season boost ahead of Chelsea's Premier League summer series clash with Brighton. The two English clubs are set to face off on Sunday, July 23 00:00am (BST) in Philadelphia just a few days after the Blues' 5-0 win against Wrexham which saw numerous youngsters given minutes.
He said: "The profile is very good, the two names and Carney also, and of course Casadei and Andrey. They have the profile. Only they need time. They are young. We cannot forget we are in Chelsea, the pressure is always to win. They need to have the place, to have time to evolve but yes the profile is good."
Concerns over a potentially long-term issue therefore lessened and Chelsea fans will now feel significantly at ease after James was spotted at the airport on his way to America.
Newcastle, Aston Villa, Fulham and Brentford are also set to take part in the overseas Premier League tournament with Chelsea later facing Newcastle and Fulham.
