LAFC aren't content with a nine-point lead at the top of the Eastern Conference and will sign former Barcelona prodigy Cristian Tello in the coming hours, according to reports.
The 31-year-old Spaniard plied his trade for La Liga side Real Betis before being released at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Tello is currently a free agent and could be an LAFC player within 'hours', according to a report.
'Cristian Tello is also going to the MLS.' said Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti on Twitter, Friday night.
'The Catalan winger will sign in the next few hours with Bale's Los Angeles FC.
'The former Betis player had offers from Europe, but opts for the exotic American experience.'
As prefaced, Tello will be teaming up with former Real Madrid star and Welsh international, Gareth Bale, who has hit the ground running in the US.
Despite holding the best record in the league, LAFC aren't satisfied.
They will hope Tello is more productive than during his last season with Betis where he registered just five goals and three assists in 35 games.
The Los Angeles based club have a comfortable cushion with nine games of the regular season to play and look set for the Supporters Shield.
Tello should provide added depth on the wing and in attack as The Black and Gold prepare for an assault on the MLS playoffs.
He may be arriving as a replacement for star midfielder Jose Cifuentes. The Ecuadorian international has seven goals and six assists in 24 MLS appearances.
Tello could form a lethal trident up top alongside Bale and Mexico international, Carlos Vela.
The Sabadell-born attacker played at Barcelona between 2011 and 2017, followed by spells with Porto and Fiorentina.
