Josele González, the former Real Madrid youth scout, confessed in an interview on Gol Doble that Mastatuono had a deal in place with Atlético Madrid.
"For me, Mastantuono already stood out a lot in Argentina. I saw him four years ago and he looked like a rocket. He's very well advised, a very focused and family-oriented guy. When I saw him in the Argentine Clásico, I knew he was ready to go to Europe. That day I was told he was going to Atlético Madrid.
