Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly in serious consultations with Real Madrid legend Raul to make him their next manager.
Their current manager Adi Hutter will join Borussia Monchengladbach for the 2021-22 season, meaning their will be a vacancy at the top of the club.
And according to Marca, the German side want Raul to spearhead their quest for European football.
The Bundesliga outfit are understood to have sent two officials to Madrid in the last few days to meet him and discuss their project and ambitions in detail.
Frankfurt already have a strong relationship with the Spanish giants, following the transfer and subsequent loan return of striker Luka Jovic, and contacted Los Blancos to formally register their interest in Raul to ensure openness and clarity.
Iconic former striker Raul is Real Madrid's second-highest goalscorer and top appearance maker of all time across a highly decorated career.
He is currently manager of Castilla, Madrid's reserve team, and also has experience as boss of the youth academy and a caretaker position of Real Madrid U19.
Raul's side are currently fighting for promotion, and he is said to want time to make his decision given their upcoming play-off run.
Although the 43-year-old has never managed outside Spain, he had a successful spell in German football with Schalke as a player, and his strong results with Castilla make him an enticing prospect, with Schalke also previously linked.
Frankfurt are currently fifth in the Bundesliga, one point and one place behind Borussia Dortmund in fourth, with one game left this season.
