Former Inter Milan goalkeeper Sebastien Frey says coach Simone Inzaghi fell out with Romelu Lukau last season.
A return to Inter for the Chelsea striker is now off after he held talks with Juventus.
Frey told TV Play: “I was told that just before the end of the season there was a clash between Inzaghi and Lukaku, which prompted the split.
“I can confirm that there are two paths Lukaku can take now, which are Juventus and Saudi Arabia."
Meanwhile, Inter have no senior goalkeepers after Andre Onana joined Manchester United and released Samir Handanovic.
“I think Yann Sommer would be good for Inter, while Emil Audero and Juan Musso are more suited to Fiorentina, they are not ready for a protagonist like Inter," added Frey.
“At that point, I'd take a risk on Anatoliy Trubin of Shakhtar Donetsk. Whatever happens, Inter need to get two goalkeepers urgently."
