Gabriel singles out Dowman as he ranks team-mates: Never seen anything like him

Max Dowman has been with Arsenal since he was nine and has already made his senior debut for the club, with Gabriel Magalhaes having nothing but praise for the teenager

Gabriel Magalhaes has hailed Max Dowman as one of Arsenal's most gifted players and insisted he has "never seen anything like him on the pitch".

Dowman, 15, made his senior bow for the Gunners when he came off the bench against Leeds United in August. The youngster replaced Noni Madueke in the 64th minute and made an instant impact, earning a late spot-kick and catching the eye whenever he touched the ball.

He has appeared twice more for Arsenal since then but remains a regular fixture in matchday squads, sitting unused on the bench in four matches this term, including both Champions League encounters.

Given Dowman won't celebrate his 16th birthday until late December, it seems Mikel Arteta and the club are gradually integrating him into the first-team setup before fully unleashing his talents down the line.

Despite his brief time with the senior squad, Dowman has already left a mark on his Arsenal teammates. Gabriel has now joined the chorus of praise for the Chelmsford-born prospect.

When Sky Sports asked him about Arsenal's most technically gifted player in training, Gabriel mentioned Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze before spotlighting Dowman and describing him as "unbelievable".

Gabriel said: "I think Max as well. This guy is unbelievable! This is crazy (that he's only 15). I've never seen anything like him on the pitch."

Given some of the players Gabriel has shared the pitch with previously, including Bukayo Saka and Viktor Gyokeres, placing Dowman amongst the elite represents quite a declaration from the Brazilian defender.

Yet he's not the sole Arsenal star to heap such praise on Dowman. Indeed, Cristhian Mosquera drew comparisons between him and Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal during a recent chat.

"I don't mean to compare, but his style and way of playing is like Lamine Yamal. His movements are Lamine-esque," Mosquera, who joined the Gunners from Valencia over the summer, revealed.

"I didn't have him on my radar and when I got to Singapore, he was already training and playing. When they told me he was 15, I couldn't believe it. He really is an incredible player, and I think he's going to be world class."

Following Dowman's bow in the 5-0 demolition of Leeds earlier this campaign, Arteta gushed about the winger's ability and lauded him for his immediate influence.

"It is great to be able to change the energy in the stadium by bringing him in and he had an impact," Arteta revealed during a press briefing. "He won a penalty on his debut at the Emirates. That's incredible.

"It's credit, first of all, to his family, the way these kids have been raised and the environment created. They are not overwhelmed by the environment and context.

"And the work of the academy, for helping to raise these kids in that manner with the confidence and understanding of the game at just 15 years old."
