According to Sport, Aurora Páez will travel to the United States to accompany her brother Gavi at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

While the Spanish team prepares for their group stage matches, the Páez family embarks on a journey filled with travel, anticipation, and new experiences.

Aurora told Vanitatis on the plane: "It's an amazing feeling to see my brother represent Spain in his second FIFA World Cup. I am so proud of him. He deserves all of this because he never gives up."

However, alongside the excitement come sacrifices. Aurora acknowledged the trade-offs: "I'll enjoy watching the games live, but I'll miss watching them with friends back home—we always get so invested." The Páez-Gavilán family remains closely connected to Los Palacios y Villafranca, Gavi's birthplace.

Gavi, 21, is competing in his second FIFA World Cup. At Qatar 2022, he became Spain's youngest goalscorer in that tournament. Aurora has witnessed everything behind the scenes: serious injuries, setbacks, media pressure, and countless hours of dedicated training.

Still, watching matches makes her nervous: "I love football, but the tension never goes away." She finds it slightly easier from the stadium: "I'm calmer watching from the stands because we're closer to him."

Her most meaningful memory so far: "This has been very moving for my family. Seeing how hard he works every day is truly remarkable. We've been through tough times, and I'm certain our grandmother was encouraging him from above."

Aurora will watch from the family stands throughout the tournament. "I believe this will be a fantastic experience. I love fully immersing myself in these matches because it's so unique."

She plans to explore each host city thoroughly: "I won't stay in the hotel. When traveling, I like to discover every place." She maintains discipline during tournaments: "I'm highly motivated to stay fit, so I wake up early to exercise, study, or handle work."

Though she has visited the United States before, she has a special goal this time: "I'm really looking forward to visiting Beverly Hills again."

As Spain pushes for early qualification to the round of 16, Aurora is also planning her World Cup outfits—a straightforward process for her. "I like to dress comfortably to watch the games because I really enjoy the moments before entering the stadium." Her choice is simple: "The best combination is jeans and a Spanish team jersey."

One item is always packed: "My camera. I love documenting every moment and looking back on them later. That really represents who I am."

The Páez-Gavilán family arrived in the United States after the Spanish team, who are based in Chattanooga during the group stage.

Though Aurora experiences football from outside the pitch, her involvement is intense: "What surprises me most is how the FIFA World Cup can unite so many people and bring an entire country together."
