Barça now know their first opponents in La Liga 2023-24. Xavi's side, who will be looking to lift the title again, will face Getafe on the weekend of 12-13 August at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez stadium.

Barça will close out LaLiga in Seville at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjúan against Sevilla on the weekend of 26 May. The 38th matchday of the competition will, on paper, be a little more difficult than the opener against Getafe. Mendilibar's side finished the season in style, winning their seventh Europa League title in the club's history and staging an impressive comeback in the domestic competition.
Despite flirting with relegation for stretches of the season, Sevilla ended LaLiga 22/23 in twelfth place with 49 points. Sevilla were in contention for the European places until the final matchday, but with the Europa League win, they sealed a direct ticket to the Champions League, and into Pot 1.
