Granada sways pass Espanyol 2-1 on Saturday at Los Carmenes. Granada faced the match with a desire to make up their league after losing 2-0 against Sevilla while Espanyol had to settle for a draw in the last match played of the competition. As of today, Granada is 10th in the LaLiga table with 30 points from 22 matches, while Espanyol sits 20th with 15 points after 22 matches.
The first half of the game started in favour of Espanyol, with a goal from Raul De Tomas 27 minutes in the game. However, Granada scored the equaliser 1-1 thanks to a goal from Darwin Machis 38 minutes in the game. Later, Granada scored again and turned the match 2-1 thanks to a goal from Carlos Fernandez in the 46th minute just before the end of the 45 minutes, thereby seeing the first half to a 2-1.
There were no goals during the second 45 minutes of the game.
At the end of the match, both teams made 3 substitutions each. For Granada Ramon Azeez, Dimitri Foulquier and Yan Eteki came on for Roberto Soldado, Darwin Machis and Maxime Gonalons, while Espanyol brought on Matias Vargas, Wu Lei and Oscar Melendo to replace Ander Iturraspe, Jonathan Calleri and Naldo.
The referee booked Roberto Soldado, German Sanchez and Maxime Gonalons from Granada, while for Espanyol Ander Iturraspe, David Lopez and Didac Vila saw a yellow card as well.
