Barcelona have confirmed Antoine Griezmann has been handed the No.17 shirt.
Griezmann was presented to Barcelona fans on Sunday and presented with the No.17 shirt by Josep Maria Bartomeu.
In something of a surprise, the Frenchman has never had any affinity with the number, having taken the No.7 at both Real Sociedad - after starting with the No.27 - and Atletico Madrid, as well as with his country.
Since the introduction of fixed shirt numbers in the 1995/96 season, a total of 13 players have used the no.17 at the club. They are: Amunike, Celades, Bogarde, Petit, Christanval, Mendieta, Van Bommel, Giovani dos Santos, Pedro, Song, Munir, Alcácer and Murillo.
Griezmann will thus become the third French player to take on the number, after Emmanuel Petit (2001/01) and Philippe Christanval (2001/02).
