Harry Kane is close to entering the last 18 months of his contract with Bayern Munich and has been tipped to replace Robert Lewandowski at Barcelona in the summer transfer window
Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has revealed that he'll make a decision on his future 'soon' amid reports that Harry Kane is being lined up to replace him. Lewandowski, 37, sees his contract with Barca at expire at the end of this season and they're planning for life without the Pole.
By June, Kane should only have a year left on his deal at Bayern Munich and a £57million release clause will become active. Former club Tottenham have first refusal but Barcelona are set to make a move.
It emerged this week that the La Liga champions regard 32-year-old Kane as the ideal successor to Lewandowski, who the England captain effectively replaced at Bayern. But given that Kane has been on record to say that he's open to extending his contract with the German giants, it's not been ruled that Barcelona could offer Lewandowski a new deal.
Adding to the uncertainty, however, the striker - who scored hat-trick in Barcelona's last match against Celta Vigo - hasn't decided what he wants to do. "I'll soon be ready to decide which path I want to take and I'll see what my options are," Lewandowski told TVP Sport before assisting the opening goal in Poland's 1-1 draw with the Netherlands on Friday.
"I'm calm. I don't know where I'll be or what I'll want to do in a few months. I don't have to do anything and I'm in no hurry."
While the veteran admits that he's 'nearing the end' of his career, Lewandowski feels energised at Barca, and he and his family are settled in Spain. "It really encourages me to know that there are so many young guys over 18 at Barcelona," he added.
"They give me a real boost of energy. I feel very comfortable among them. I remember when I was a teenager and what I did at their age. I'm older than the parents of some of my team-mates. They treat me like a father. It's funny, but very positive.

"Last season was very successful for me. I scored a lot of goals and won several trophies, which confirms that my level of play was very high.
"My career is nearing its end, but while I'm still playing football, I want to make the most of it, not only in sporting terms but also emotionally. I want to enjoy the moment and get the most out of it."
