Huesca cling on to survival hopes with point at Villarreal

  /  autty

Villarreal had to settle for a point as they drew 1-1 with Huesca in a game which saw an incredible goal in each half.

The home side started the brighter of the two and deservedly took the lead with an audacious effort by Pablo Fornals, who hit a first-time rabona into the corner of the net after some neat work by Samu Chukwueze.

Francisco Rodriguez's men rolled up their sleeves in the second half and their industrious attitude paid off with an exquisite goal through Chimy Avila, executing an acrobatic volley into the same left-hand corner that Fornals had scored in during the first half.

With this point in the bag, Huesca can still just about hang on to the dream of avoiding relegation, sitting 19th on 30 points but seven points from safety with three games to go.

Villarreal, meanwhile, remain 14th but go up to 40 points, so this point may be critical in keeping the Yellow Submarine afloat in the top flight.
