Barcelona midfielder Andres Inieista is widely considered to be one of the nicest players in the game, so it seemed completely out of character when he was booked for dissent in the Copa del Rey final.
Already 4-0 up and cruising to a fourth-straight Copa del Rey title against Sevilla, Iniesta earned a rare yellow card when he approached referee Jesus Gil Manzano in anger after being denied a free-kick.
Manzano rightly issued Iniesta with a caution, but the 33-year-old quickly realised the error of his ways and was seen apologising to the match official just seconds later.
It served as further proof that the veteran Spaniard is a shining example to young footballers everywhere. Indeed, he has received just 60 yellow cards in 670 appearances for Barcelona and has famously never been sent off.
So it comes with great sadness that the European game is about to lose him for good as he is expected to complete a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League at the end of the current season.
The fact that he was seen with tears in his eyes as he left the field to a standing ovation in the 88th minute served as further proof that Saturday's final will be his last in a Barcelona shirt.
After celebrating his sixth Copa del Rey title, Iniesta told reporters that a decision on his future will be made public this week.
Asked if it was his last final with Barcelona, Iniesta said: 'It's a possibility. In a few days I'll make it public and nothing more. Today is a very special and emotional day.'
'I will say what the decision is this week. I think it's a little clear but we will see.'
The 2010 World Cup winner would bow out on a high if he does leave with Barcelona needing just one more win to claim La Liga back from Real Madrid.
However, even a domestic double will not be able to hide the disappointment of failing to win the Champions League, where they were knocked out by Italian side Roma in the quarter-finals.
