Barcelona B hope to finally welcome Matheus Pereira into their ranks within three weeks.

The Brazilian has been in his homeland attempting to speed up the process of getting approval for his loan move, which was agreed in January with parent club Juventus.

As part of the arrangement, which saw Alejandro Marques go the other way, the Blaugrana will owe Juventus eight million euros at the end of this season.

The Catalans hope Pereira could make his debut for the club in the B team's encounter with Sabadell on March 15, or failing that against FC Andorra on March 22.

Elsewhere, Barcelona B representatives are trying to finalise the signing of Extremadura forward Victor Pastrana.

The season-ending shoulder injury suffered by Hiroki Abe, one of coach Francesc Xavier Garcia Pimienta's most trusted players this season, against El Prat has forced the club to seek a replacement.

Pastrana, who learnt his trade in the academies of Alcorcon and Celta Vigo, has not had the game time he wanted at Extremadura this season.
