Inter hasn't reached agreement with Udinese over Solet; Atletico Madrid ready to step in

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Internazionale's management reached a framework agreement with Solet some time ago, but has not yet finalized a deal with Udinese. In recent hours, Atletico Madrid has sensed an opportunity to intervene.

At Inter's offices, following the collapse of the Palestra deal, the management is maintaining composure. The club cannot afford to be rattled by a major signing that was nearly completed but fell through due to Chelsea's intervention—though such frustration is understandable.

However, composure cannot be taken to extremes, as other targets could suffer the same fate. That risk is very real: Solet, who has been Internazionale's primary target and point of contact for weeks, has now caught the attention of Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid's interest is genuine, and the Spanish club may soon submit a formal offer. Internazionale has already agreed personal terms with the defender and is awaiting confirmation of when he can arrive in Milan; he has previously made clear his fondness for the city and sent very positive signals.

However, Internazionale and Udinese have not yet reached an agreement: Udinese is asking for between 25 and 30 million euros, while Internazionale's offer stands at around 20 million euros—a gap of several million between the two clubs. With this impasse, Atletico Madrid has seized the opportunity and is expected to submit its opening offer to Udinese within the week.
