Italian Media: Napoli could re-sign Juan as defense faces crisis

According to reports from Italian newspaper Il Mattino, in light of injury problems plaguing Napoli's defense, the Serie A powerhouse might re-sign Brazilian veteran Juan, whose contract with the club had expired.

At the start of preseason training, Buongiorno was diagnosed with a knee meniscus root ligament that required reconstructive surgery, sidelining him for two to three months.

Due to injury, Bremer has been absent from matches since the end of last season and is still not fully recovered, leaving new coach Allegri with limited defensive options.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli's solution might be a familiar face—Juan. The Brazilian veteran, who just celebrated his 35th birthday, became a free agent after his original contract with Napoli expired on June 30.

Currently, Juan has received several offers, including from Serie A side Venezia, Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña, and his hometown team Atlético Mineiro.

However, one issue remains: Napoli is currently restricted by squad limits and needs to sell a player over 22 years old to free up a spot before signing him.
