James Rodriguez and his first goalless year with Colombia

  /  autty

It's clear that James Rodriguez has not had a good 2019, not only with his situations with first Bayern Munich and then with Real Madrid, but he has not found solace with Colombia either.

On this occasion, James has been unable to play for his national team after feeling some discomfort in his left knee, which is said to be due to a sprained internal lateral ligament.

The numbers highlight the playmaker's disappointing year, too, first with his minutes whilst at Los Blancos and now with the realisation that James won't have scored a goal for Colombia in 2019, given that he will be unable to play with La Tricolor over this international break.

In 2018, James failed to score at the World Cup but he was able to haunt the US for the third year in succession as he got on the scoresheet in a friendly on October 11.

Since then, 25 months have passed and James has played in eight games for Colombia, yet he has been unable to score.

It is unknown just how long this drought will go on for as there has not yet been a date revealed for the start of qualification for the 2022 World Cup, nor have any potential friendlies been revealed.
