James Rodriguez slammed by journalist: He's a spoiled little boy

Journalist Ivan Mejia has little sympathy for James Rodriguez, who he believes has brought all of his troubles onto himself.

James Rodriguez's troubles at Real Madrid are well known, with the Colombian very much on the periphery of Zinedine Zidane's plans.

"James is a spoiled little boy," Mejia began to Corrillo de Mao.

"He didn't want to be a footballer or to succeed.

"Unfortunately he thought he was the main figure, but at Real Madrid that was Cristiano Ronaldo.

"He stopped being a footballer and began to be a figurine.

"He was never a professional because he thought he owned the team.

"He fought with [Rafael] Benitez, he fought with [Claudio] Ranieri at Monaco... he doesn't like anyone."

The Colombian has a difficult relationship with Zidane at Real Madrid now, and Mejia is clear on who he thinks is to blame.

"It's because of him, don't blame the coaches," Mejia added.

"It's not Zidane's fault, the club told him that he has to have the player.

"But he caught him several times speaking badly.

"If [Carlos] Queiroz has removed James from the Colombia team it's because he can't stand him [the player] speaking ill of him."
