Jesus Navas has dedicated his goal against the Faroe Islands to the recently passed Jose Antonio Reyes and the win to troubled Spain coach Luis Enrique.
Enjoying something of a second youth, Navas was impressive on Friday evening and got a rare goal for La Roja.
"It's been a tough week because of Reyes," he said after the game.
"We had to be with his family, which was the important thing.
"I dedicate my goal to him and the victory is for the coach, we are with him."
On a personal level, the Sevilla man is happy to be involved with the national team.
"It's a pride and privilege to be here," he explained.
"It's the maximum for each of us. It's a joy to play and these were three points that we needed to win."
