According to Spanish media outlet Sport, Barça goalkeeper Joan García has stated that his goal for the new season is to win the Champions League. He is currently on vacation after winning the 2026 World Cup with the Spanish national team. In an interview at his long-planned personal training camp, he said the Champions League is the target he has set for himself for the new season.
Joan García said: "I have been with Barcelona for a year, and we won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. This year, I also won the World Cup, so the goal for next season is naturally the Champions League. The World Cup is the highest honor at national team level, and the Champions League is the most significant trophy in club competitions. This is the goal I have set for myself this year." He believes that winning the Champions League should not become an obsession, but that one must maintain desire, demand a lot from oneself, and strive for this honor with a winning mentality.
He explained: "You have to strike a balance; too much obsession is not good. If the goal is not achieved in the end, the negative impact will be very significant, but we are fully confident that we can do it."
The Barcelona goalkeeper also took the opportunity to discuss several hot topics related to the team, including rumors that the club are interested in signing Julián Álvarez.
