Joaquin when asked whether he'd have Koeman as Real Betis coach: Not even as kitman!

Joaquin Sanchez didn't beat around the push when talking about his experience of working under Ronald Koeman. The pair were together briefly at Valencia during the 2007/08 season, with Los Che winning the Copa del Rey before the Dutch coach was sacked.

Koeman is back in Spanish football this season, taking advantage of his excellent reputation at the Camp Nou to get hold of the Barcelona job. Joaquin, though, wouldn't have recommended the former defender to take over at Real Betis. "Not even as kitman!" Joaquin replied when asked whether he'd work under Koeman at Betis. "I've moved on, we said everything to each other.

"Fortunately, [my time with him at Valencia] didn't last long and we were able to save the season ending with as much dignity as possible, because the year was tough." "It wasn't the most amazing experience of my career," Joaquin added on his time with Koeman at Valencia. "It wasn't a pleasant experience, but as I always say: you have to live through everything and whatever happens in whatever moment. I don't want to talk about this matter because what happened there really hurts me. I had a bad time."

Joaquin and Koeman will come face to face once more on Saturday when Barcelona host Betis at the Camp Nou - or not. "No, he's not going to greet me and I'm not going to greet him," Joaquin said when asked whether he would catch up with Koeman.
