Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici: We won't sign Luis Suarez

Following much speculation, it seems that Luis Suarez will not leave Barcelona for Turin as Juventus have confirmed that they will not sign the centre-forward.

The Uruguayan has reportedly been told to find a new club and Juventus were thought to be the most likely candidates to secure his signature.

"He's not on our shortlist because of the time it takes bureaucratically to obtain a passport," Juve's sporting director, Fabio Paratici, told Sky Sport Italia before the Bianconeri played Sampdoria.

"When there was the chance for him to come, we looked into it and the citizenship issue was an obstacle.

"It wasn't possible to cut the time, so we had to pull out."

Without the chance to go to Juventus, Suarez is closer to staying at Barcelona.

Before the Joan Gamper Trophy, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu would not confirm that Suarez would leave and there are now just two weeks left in the transfer market.
