LaLiga new boys Granada slapped with transfer ban ahead of return to top flight

Granada have been hit with a transfer ban as they prepare for their first season back in La Liga.

Segunda Division sides Malaga and Las Palmas will also be prevented from signing new players.

So far this summer Granada have been active in the transfer window, securing the signings of Darwin Machis, Domingos Duarte, Yan Brice and Fede Vico, while Roberto Soldado and Neyder Lozano have joined on free transfers, and Yanger Herrera has joined on loan.

However, as reported by Marca, they will not be able to sign any new players until they 'normalise their salary control', with the clubs having to free up money on their wage bills.

All three clubs are currently operating at their maximum budget, with La Liga rules stating that clubs can only spend money which they declare and prove to be in their power.

Malaga, who finished third in the Segunda Division last season, brought in striker Shinji Okazaki on a free transfer following his departure from Leicester.

Las Palmas, meanwhile, finished in 12th place in the second tier last campaign. They have made one major signing so far this summer, with Jean-Armel Drole arriving on loan from Antalayaspor.
